Tigran Sargsyan addresses construction workers’ on their professional holiday

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended today a ceremonious event on Construction Workers Day.

Addressing those present, the Prime Minister stated in part: “2009 posed serious problems in the sphere of construction, first of all. We experienced significant cuts in capital investment which affected the whole economic system. Nevertheless, construction showed signs of recovery in the first half-year of 2010 thanks to an array of treasury-supported sizeable projects.

These efforts have to be continued as propelled by the new initiatives of the Ministry of Urban Development which are aimed at diversifying the tasks set before the local real estate developers.”

Highlighting those projects to be implemented by the Ministry of Urban Development in 2010, the head of government added: “Armenia boasts serious historical heritage which should be developed so as either the rising generation could be proud of it. I am convinced that we have the needed potential and human resources for building a wonderful country.”

For valuable contribution to the field of construction, a group of builders and engineers were handed in gold medals, as well as the Premier’s and the Urban Development Minister’s appreciation letters.
