Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s congratulatory remarks on construction workers’ professional holiday

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, I congratulate you on your professional holiday. It is an exclusive opportunity to take up topical issues, look back at past achievements and discuss such new challenges as may be faced in the sphere of construction.

It is not a secret that 2009 posed serious problems in the sphere of construction, first of all. We experienced significant cuts in capital investment which affected the whole economic system. Nevertheless, construction showed signs of recovery in the first half-year of 2010 thanks to an array of treasury-supported sizeable projects.

These efforts have to be continued as propelled by the new initiatives of the Ministry of Urban Development which are aimed at diversifying the tasks set before the local real estate developers. Here, I would like to mention those pilot programs carried out along Garni-Geghard highway which seek to give birth to a new traveling center. Projects like this will be implemented nationwide in order to raise awareness among investors concerning such engineering projects as may conform to Armenia’s social and economic development priorities. Sector modernization efforts come to the forefront in this respect. Armenia boasts serious historical heritage which should be developed so as either the rising generation could be proud of it. I am convinced that we have the needed potential and human resources for building a wonderful country.

Dear colleagues, emphasizing once again your important role in the building of a better future, I offer heartfelt congratulations on your professional holiday.
