Armenia Development Partners Cooperation Coordination Platform Holds Regular Meeting


The Armenia Development Partners Cooperation Coordination Platform held a regular meeting in the Office of Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp. Ambassadors and heads of Armenia field missions of several international organizations attended the meeting both in person and through video communication.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan introduced the epidemiological in the country and the Armenian government’s efforts aimed at mitigating its socio-economic consequences.

On behalf of the Government of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan thanked the development partners for supporting our country in this difficult period. In this context, he stressed the need for closer cooperation with all partners.

UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp, World Bank Armenia Office Director Sylvie Bossoutrot and UNDP Permanent Representative Dmitri Mariasin delivered speeches during the meeting. They referred to the pandemic’s impact on the Armenian economy, the emerging risks and the UN plan for socio-economic response and economic recovery.

The discussion continued in the format of questions and answers. Mher Grigoryan answered the questions of interest to the ambassadors, which referred to the Government’s anti-crisis action plan, the preparations for the probable second wave of COVID-19, the country’s socio-economic problems, and the strategy development processes.

Summing up the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp highlighted the discussions held in this format, which provide an opportunity to exchange views on topics of mutual interest.
