Mher Grigoryan Attends Army Day-Dated Festive Events in Sisian

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan attended festive events in Sisian on the 28th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia - Army Day.

The ceremonious event started with a military parade and demo drills staged by a reconnaissance company on Sisian Square. Afterwards the Deputy Prime Minister laid flowers and paid tribute to our heroes at the Military Pantheon of Perished Freedom-Fighters.

During the festive events, Mher Grigoryan watched a demonstration of military equipment, weaponry and ammunition and attended a concert at the Sisian House of Culture. Opening the concert program, the Deputy Premier delivered congratulatory remarks, in which he stated:

“Dear compatriots,

It is a great honor for me to congratulate you on the occasion of the Armenian Army’s 28th Anniversary in Sisian.

Army Day is the time to rethink the most important values for all of us - Motherland, Independence, Security and Peace. The Armenian army is our pride, one of the most important pillars of statehood. That is why the government is making every effort to reform the army and improve our soldiers’ service conditions.

The acquisition of state-of-the-art armaments and the development of the military industry and high technologies will help our troops keep up with modern trends and show adequate responsiveness in warfare.

We attach great importance to human capital’s involvement in the ongoing army modernization efforts as we believe that the modernization of military equipment is closely associated with the disclosure of human potential.

Taking this opportunity, I wish to thank the soldiers and officers of the Armenian Army for living up to the task set before them. I cannot help remembering and paying tribute to all those martyrs who defended our homeland at the cost of their lives.

Our army boasts high combat effectiveness. However, what matters most is our soldiers’ dedication and high morale. This is what makes our country move ahead with confidence, as we are well aware that the rear is protected by the powerful Armenian army.

May our country be blessed with lasting peace and stability!

I wish the Armenian army high spirits, as well as safe service - to all Armenian servicemen.”
