Interdepartmental Committee on Electronic Justice Holds First Sitting

On November 14, the first sitting of the Interdepartmental Committee on E-Justice was held, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.

Tigran Avinyan noted that one of the most important tasks of the government is to enhance the efficiency of public administration through simplified procedures, automation and digitalization of government-provided services, as well as to ensure accountability and transparency in public administration activities, and reducing unnecessary red tape. He highlighted the role of electronic tools in this process.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the government has set itself the goal of ensuring effective functioning of the judiciary, which in turn will lead to increased confidence in the system. An ambitious program for introducing a unified e-justice system has been launched as part of the ongoing comprehensive judicial reform program with the aim of digitizing criminal, administrative and civil pre-trial and judicial procedures.

Tigran Avinyan pointed out that the creation of an inter-agency platform and interaction structures is crucial in terms of forming a unified e-justice system, considering there are many authorities operational in the field of justice.

The main idea behind the introduction of an e-justice system and the establishment of an “e-criminal case” system were discussed during the meeting.
