Tigran Avinyan Receives German Ambassador

On November 13, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received German Ambassador to Armenia Michael Johannes Banzhaf.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Germany is among Armenia’s key partners, and the bilateral relations have been on the rise for the last one and a half years owing to reciprocated top-level visits and relevant agreements. At the request of Ambassador Banzhaf, the Deputy Premier outlined Armenia’s economic priorities and the reforms underway in the country.

With reference to mining industry, Tigran Avinyan noted that increased transparency and accountability in this sector, as well as its conformity with international standards is a key objective for the Government of Armenia.

The meeting agenda comprised other issues related to trade and economy, high technologies, tourism, education, research, and territorial administration. Tigran Avinyan advised that the Armenian government pays great attention to the promotion of information technologies, and specifically to the development of artificial intelligence. In this context, he appreciated the possibility of implementing joint projects with Germany.
