Extra budget receipts funneled toward improving water supply infrastructure

A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.

The Government decided to redistribute funds in the 2019 State budget and provide AMD 450,517.0 thousand to the Water Committee following the principle of increased revenue and expenditure. The funds will be used to carry out capital works at 10 out of the 12 facilities as specified in Agreement N8 of December 12, 2018 between the Government of the Republic of Armenia, represented by the Water Committee, and Veolia Jour CJSC.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan stated in this connection: “The mentioned activities will be carried out mediating extra budget receipts. In general, the funds so collected shall be used to implement similar lifeline projects. This is very important: taking the opportunity, I would like to once again urge our citizens to pay taxes.”

With another decision, the Government redistributed funds in the State budget and allocated 261.382.9 thousand drams to the Ministry of Emergency Situations to provide for greater efficiency in rescue services.

The meeting amended the procedure for alienation of government agencies-affiliated residential areas under the Government Decision of March 24, 2011, and granted ownership rights for 106 apartments to 100 families with 231 residents.

The Government passed a number of other decisions, under which 5 companies – Nairian CJSC, Hay Plast LLC, Golden Seam LLC, Art Global LLC and In-V LLC - were exempted from customs duties on imports of technological equipment, component parts and accessories, raw materials and (or) other materials.
