PM considers domestic industry development-related issues







Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received today a group of local manufacturers. Stressing the importance of meetings like that, Hovik Abrahamyan said the Government will do its utmost to promote and boost local production.

The Prime Minister said the Government is will use different tools to help domestic entities increase their output and create new jobs. The meeting agenda featured various items related to industry, energy, agriculture, construction, as well as business development programs, opportunities and challenges.

The speakers noted that the home industry has great potential for development, which can be tapped mediating public-private sector cooperation. During the exchange of views that followed, a number of proposals and recommendations were made in an effort to bolster local production, increase and diversify exports.

The entrepreneurs in attendance thanked the Premier for keeping in focus the existing problems and supporting their investment programs.

In particular, Executive Director of Hrazdan cement factory Naira Martirosyan and Automation JSC CEO Rafael Grigoryan appreciated the substantial assistance provided by the Government, thanks to which the Hrazdan cement plant was able to attract the necessary working capital to resume production and create 400 new jobs, while Automation JSC may take the number of jobs to 120 from the current 50.

Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed the implementation of development programs that can help boost local production. Stressing that similar consultations should be held on a regular basis, the Prime Minister said the Government would consider all the proposals voiced at the meeting in order to develop new measures and ways of supporting domestic businesses.
