Hovik Abrahamyan Welcomes Sergei Naryshkin




Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation headed by RF State Duma Speaker, President of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Sergei Naryshkin.

Welcoming the guests, the Prime Minister said Mr Naryshkin’s visit and participation in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Yerevan meeting might give a new impetus to Armenian-Russian strategic and friendly relations, boost and deepen inter-parliamentary ties and strengthen cooperation between parliamentarians of the two countries on international platforms.

The head of the Armenian government stressed that the Armenian-Russian cooperation boasts good dynamics in both political and economic spheres. Thankful for a warm reception, Sergey Naryshkin noted the importance of continued multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Russia in different spheres. As he provided details of the CSTO PA meeting, Mr Naryshkin advised that the meeting focused on such important issues as the fight against international terrorism and the countering of possible challenges. Sergey Naryshkin expressed confidence that the agreements reached during the meeting would help the member countries enhance their national security and solve the existing problems.

Hovik Abrahamyan and Sergey Naryshkin next discussed issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and programs implemented within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The parties expressed confidence that the EAEC has great cooperation potential and the member States will be able to make the best possible use of it. The interlocutors concurred in that they could overcome through joint effort any such difficulty as might arise due to the geopolitical situation and secure new economic achievements.
