Armen Muradyan reports to Prime Minister Abrahamyan that epidemiological situation is under control

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan chaired a consultative meeting in the Office of Government, during which Healthcare Minister Armen Muradyan reported back the epidemiological situation in the country.

The Minister advised that the health system worked in emergency regime, and will continue to act in the same way over the coming days. Over 350 cases of acute respiratory diseases, including 67 incidences of pneumonia, were reported in the same period, with over 800 emergency calls recorded daily. 27 cases of H1N1 virus were reported in the country. All the affected patients are under enhanced supervision. To prevent the virus from proliferating, all vulnerable groups have been immunized.

24 pregnant women had been hospitalized with acute respiratory problems, of which 5 with pneumonia. 2 of them are in intensive care, and their health status is being improved gradually. Unfortunately, one case of death of a pregnant woman was recorded in patients with pneumonia due to drastic exacerbation of the disease and late referral to doctors. Investigative materials are being prepared in connection with this case.

Armen Muradyan noted that all patients are under enhanced supervision. The Minister stressed that the epidemiological situation in the country is fully controlled, and that the medical institutions are provided with all the necessary medicines.

A quick-responsive task force has been established, headed by Minister Muradyan, which meets twice a day to discuss the situation and operatively respond to the problems. Prime Minister Abrahamian asked about the epidemiological situation in the army. No severe cases of illness had been recorded, with only 9 cases of pneumonia stated in the military units. All patients are under are kept under control.

The Head of Government instructed Healthcare Minister Armen Muradyan to keep the situation under control and continue paying regular visits to medical institutions.
