According to Koryun Atoyan, the University’s main task is to prepare competitive and highly qualified specialists. In 2015, the University became a member of the Eurasian Association of Universities, with 17 international arrangements signed in the period under review. The report presented the figures proposed for the 2016 draft budget. The Board discussed and approved the University’s educational, scientific and financial activities in 2015. The meeting estimated and endorsed the budget for the year 2016.

Summarizing the Board’s performance, the Prime Minister said that the ASEU management and staff proved effective in their activities aimed at enhancing the quality of training, the University’s competitiveness and prestige.

“The global economic developments have posed new threats and challenges, which call for highly qualified specialists. In this regard, the Government attaches great importance to the training of highly professional economists, which is entrusted to the University,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.

According to the Premier, the University should support the Government’s economic policies with its potential. In this regard, the Prime Minister commended the university professors’ and students’ drive to study the Government’s economic development policy priorities.

“In 2015, the University continued with the policy of reform and development. The improvement of quality of education, continued research activities, targeted welfare policy for faculty and students, furtherance of international cooperation, modernization and the students’ achievements in various fields demonstrate that the University is constantly evolving and becoming more competitive. Here, I would highlight the fact of accreditation of the University. All of these developments have promoted the University’s standing, offering opportunities of pride,” the Prime Minister noted.

Concluding his speech, Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the 2015 budget performance is satisfactory and shows that the budget was managed effectively and efficiently. According to him, the results are visible in all areas of university activities, from its welfare programs and the modernization of the educational environment. As the Premier said, the estimated budget for 2016 shows that the aforementioned trends are likely to continue in the year to come.
