Vulnerable Households to Get Free Digital TV Receivers
A regular Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
The Cabinet approved a procedure for distribution of DVB-T2 digital TV receiver devices to needy families as social assistance. DVB-T2 digital TV receivers will be provided to 48733 vulnerable households through territorial social assistance agencies (departments).
The Government adopted a resolution on the provision of State-guaranteed reproductive technology-based medical aid for the residents of border communities in 2016. Accordingly, changes and additions were made to the government decision of May 27, 2015 “On the procedure to follow in providing free or discounted reproductive technology-based medical assistance and services to target groups of beneficiaries.”
As Healthcare Minister Armen Muradyan noted, the decision was passed in compliance with the assignments issued at the latest Prime Minister-chaired consultative meeting on improvement of demographic indicators, which decided that a concept note and a national program should be developed to improve the demographic situation in the country. In addition, the resolution provides that the amount of 50 million drams as saved up under the Health Department-administered auxiliary reproductive technology-mediated medical services program for infertile couples will be used to assist the border community-based 35 couples included in the relevant list of beneficiaries. The Prime Minister highlighted the decision.
The meeting provided Armoil with a three-year extension on the standing VAT holiday arrangement for import of goods and equipment under its ongoing investment program. Note that Armoil is planning to build a completely new and state-of-the-art oil refinery in Yeghvard town of Kotayk Marz of Armenia.
The Government extended for another year - until December 31, 2016 - the VAT holiday offered to InterAlco Ltd for imports worth over 200 million drams as estimated by the customs authorities of the Republic of Armenia.

In bid to uproot the reasons behind the recent accidents at motor gas filling stations (MGFS), the Government approved a set of safety regulations applicable to automotive vehicles running on compressed natural gas fuel.
The Cabinet approved the Support for Armenia’s Anticorruption Strategy agreement to be implemented under an arrangement signed on September 28, 2013 between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the International Development Agency. The Support for Armenia’s Anticorruption Strategy agreement is meant to assist the Government with the implementation of its 2015-2018 anti-corruption strategy. The agreement provides for USD 750,000-worth assistance to the Government Staff with a view to setting up an expert task force and building technical capacity. The funds so allocated will be used for the following three objectives, establishment of an expert group to work with the Anti-Corruption Council, launch of the 2015-2018 anti-corruption strategy, drafting and implementation of a relationship strategy with stakeholders.
