Attended by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, RA Government, European Investment Bank Sign Cooperation Development Instruments




Attended by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank signed today a number of cooperation development-related documents.

The parties first signed a EUR 8 million-worth financial agreement referred to as “Yerevan Solid Waste Management: Stage-1.” The document was signed by Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Khachatryan and EIB Vice President Laszlo Baranyay. The contract features three components aimed at improving the system of solid waste management in Yerevan.

A memorandum of understanding was next signed between the Government of Armenia, Yerevan Mayor’s Office, the European Union and the European Investment Bank on willingness to cooperate in the management of solid waste.

The document was signed by Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Peter Switalski and EIB Vice President Laszlo Baranyay.

Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglaryan, Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan and EIB Vice President Laszlo Baranyay signed a declaration of intent on the investment program for rehabilitation and improvement of M6 Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian Border highway. The signatories thereby reaffirm their interest in and readiness for implementation of a program of rehabilitation and modernization for the 60km-long M6 interstate road section from Vanadzor to Bagratashen.
