PM Receives Microsoft Vice President Vahe Torosyan




Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received today Microsoft Vice President for Corporate Affairs Vahe Torosyan.

Highly appreciative of the ongoing cooperation with Microsoft in the field of information technology, the Prime Minister reiterated his government’s readiness to expand and deepen the interaction.

Noting that the Memorandum and cooperation agreements signed in May, 2015 between the Government of Armenia and Microsoft will contribute to the development and implementation of new prospective programs, Hovik Abrahamyan assured of the Armenian government’s firm determination to comply with the commitments assumed under the aforementioned instruments.

Reminding that the development of the IT sector is one of his government’s priorities, the Prime Minister said the high pace of growth stated in this sector is also due to Microsoft’s effective efforts. Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the Corporation for the assistance funneled through Microsoft’s Innovation Center and many other initiatives.

In turn, Vahe Torosyan said to be proud of numerous joint achievements of Armenia and Microsoft that can lead to long-term progress in our country. Thanking Hovik Abrahamyan for support and cooperation, Vahe Torosyan hailed the steps implemented by the Government in this field.

Mr. Torosyan pointed out that Microsoft is keen to expand cooperation and make further investment in Armenia in a bid to contribute to the development of information technologies in our country. At the same time, Vahe Torosyan reaffirmed his company’s readiness to comply with the commitments assumed under the Memorandum and cooperation agreements.

Pleased with the pace of the ongoing joint projects, the interlocutors exchanged views over the cooperation prospects. In particular, they touched upon the possibility of implementing new joint projects in the field of intellectual property and training programs, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest.

For significant contribution to the development information technology and innovations in Armenia, Microsoft Vice President Vahe Torosyan was presented with the Prime Minister’s Commemorative Medal.
