Prime Minister Receives Georgian Agriculture Minister



Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received today Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Otar Danelia.

Welcoming the visit of the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, the Prime Minister said that agriculture may help propel the Armenian-Georgian effective cooperation. Highly appreciative of the friendly relations between the two countries and intergovernmental dialogue, Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the importance of closer business contacts and mutual visits.

Thankful for the reception, Otar Danelia forwarded warm greetings on behalf of the Georgian Prime Minister. He said to be impressed with Armenia’s achievements in the farming sector and briefed the Premier on the agreements reached during his visit.

Stating that the ongoing cooperation provides the necessary conditions for the strengthening of Armenian-Georgian ties in agriculture, the parties discussed a number of relevant issues.

Convinced that agriculture is a sustainable development priority, both sides reaffirmed the agreements reached and expressed willingness to support the implementation of joint projects.

Hovik Abrahamyan and Otar Danelia expressed confidence that membership in different economic coalitions will create new opportunities for the two countries’ business circles.

The Prime Minister of Armenia appreciated the Georgian authorities’ latest decision to extend Upper Lars checkpoint’s daily operations by 3 hours during summer months that will contribute to the smooth organization of transportation and transit of agricultural products.

At the end of the meeting, Hovik Abrahamyan conveyed warm greetings to his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili.
