PM Receives Representatives of Telecommunication and IT Sector Companies




Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a group of leading telecommunication and IT company representatives who are in Armenia to attend a media conference referred to as “Communicate to improve the communication sector.”

The Prime Minister welcomed the holding of such a conference and said it was a good opportunity to outline new ways of developing television and radio networks, exchange know-how, expand cooperation and attract new investment.

Noting that the IT sector is the focus of his government, Hovik Abrahamyan appreciated leading IT companies’ activities in our country. Thanking the Premier for the reception, the guests said that the media forum will enable to exchange best practices, discuss cooperation and establish new business contacts.

The sides exchanged views on expanding and deepening cooperation in the field of Information Technology. Introducing the programs implemented in the information, communication and high-tech sectors, Hovik Abrahamyan assured that the Government of Armenia will continue to develop the given sector.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation programs. The representatives of telecommunication and IT companies reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation, making new investment and implementing new joint projects.

Note that at the initiative and with the support of the National Television and Radio Commission, the Armenian Cable Broadcasters’ Association and the London International Institute of Cable TV Broadcasters have co-hosted an international media conference referred to as “Communicate to improve the communication sector” due on June 29-30, 2015 in Yerevan.

The forum brings together the representatives of television and radio regulatory agencies, leading companies from media industry, international organizations, domestic IT companies, television and radio broadcasters and cable companies.
