Welcoming the forum, the Prime Minister said, “Held for the 8th time now, the forum brings together companies offering cutting-edge technology and services which have the opportunity to present their achievements in the field of technological development, new approaches and solutions.

The IT industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Armenia. It is noteworthy that the IT industry is a core element of the Program of Government. We encourage the implementation of any long-term program which results from the co-operation between the public and private sectors and is aimed at developing industry, attracting foreign investment, promoting entrepreneurship and generating new jobs.

At the initiative of the Government, a package of laws was adopted in 2014, aimed at supporting the IT industry, by virtue of which fiscal privileges have been made available to startup IT companies this year. We will be consistent in the pursuit of our IT development policy focus.

The innovative solutions and suggestions in the field of Information technology, telecommunications and high-tech are being successfully applied in Armenia’s economy, which promote economic growth, productivity and competitiveness. The DigiTech business forum is a strong boost to the economy in terms of applied technological solutions.”

Concluding the speech, Hovik Abrahamyan assured that his government will be a partner and supporter for the IT sector. The Prime Minister toured the stands getting acquainted with the products, services and ideas presented at the forum.

Note that the DigiTech business forum is attended by 70 companies representing the IT industry, other business sectors and public administration.
