PM Receives Head of OSCE Yerevan Office

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by Ambassador Andrey Sorokin, Head of the Yerevan Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Welcoming the guests, the Prime Minister described the ongoing bilateral cooperation in various areas as quite effective and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue with the implementation of joint projects.

Thanking the Premier for high appreciation given to the joint efforts, Andrey Sorokin hailed Hovik Abrahamyan’s contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation both as National Assembly Speaker and Prime Minister of Armenia.

The sides discussed the pace of the OSCE-supported Regulatory Guillotine reform program and further steps. Stressing that the project will go a long way toward simplifying the administrative procedure for starting a business, Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the role of the OSCE Yerevan Office in ensuring successful implementation and completion of the aforementioned Regulatory Guillotine program, as well as in introducing a follow-up regulatory impact assessment system.

In turn, Andrey Sorokin praised the Program, noting that a few months are left before it will come to completion. In this context, he stressed the need for the local government agencies to fully comply with the recommendations of leading international experts.

As the parties went on to discuss cooperation expansion and activation issues, the importance of both the ongoing and prospective joint projects was emphasized on either side.
