Discussed were areas for implementation of various investment programs in Armenia by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development

On official visit to the State of Kuwait, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received at his residence Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Hisham Ibrahim Al-Waqayan.

During the meeting, they discussed a wide range of issues on implementation of various programs in Armenia by the Kuwait Fund. Prime Minister Abrahamyan noted that Armenia is interested in the deepening of trade, economic and investment cooperation, for which there all the necessary conditions in place.

Hisham Ibrahim Al-Waqayan said that the Kuwait Fund is interested in the implementation of major investment in Armenia and expressed his willingness to discuss various large-scale projects for their implementation. In this context, the parties discussed possible joint programs in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare and other areas, and the work planned for the near future in this regard.

Hisham Ibrahim Al-Waqayan noted that the Fund carries out a number of programs in Armenia within the framework of the international financial institutions, including the Asian Development Bank, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and will continue to contribute to the implementation of programs aimed at developing Armenia’s economy.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed the Fund’s readiness to invest in the Republic of Armenia and stressed that as head of government he will do everything to promote Armenian-Kuwaiti economic ties.
