Armenian Prime Minister meets with Emir of Kuwait
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan has arrived in Kuwait on an official visit at the invitation of the Head of Government of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah. At the El-Kuwait International Airport, Hovik Abrahamyan was met by Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah.
After the official meeting ceremony, the Prime Minister-headed Armenian delegation traveled to the residence of the Emir of Kuwait Bayan Palace where Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
The Armenian Premier thanked the Emir of Kuwait for the warm reception, conveyed warm greetings of on behalf of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and an invitation to pay an official visit to Armenia. The Emir of Kuwait in turn addressed warm greetings to the President of Armenia and thanked for the invitation.
The Prime Minister noted that his official visit to Kuwait is the evidence of Armenia’s determination to continuously develop multifaceted bilateral relationship. According to Hovik Abrahamyan, his visit will open up new horizons for the furtherance of bilateral cooperation.
Welcoming and appreciating Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan’s visit to his country, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah said that it will contribute to the further deepening of Armenian-Kuwaiti friendly relations.
The Emir of Kuwait said his country was ready to discuss all the issues that will serve the interests of the two countries and peoples, develop and expand cooperation with Armenia in various spheres, including political, economic, cultural and humanitarian. The Emir noted that there are no obstacles to achieving these goals. In this context, the parties discussed a broad range of issues relating to the expansion of ties between the two countries.
The Armenian Premier and the Emir of Kuwait also touched upon regional issues. Both sides stressed the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts and the need to ensure stability in the region.
The Prime Minister thanked the State of Kuwait for the warm attitude towards the Armenian community of Kuwait and for the assistance shown to Syrian-Armenians to move to Armenia as a result of the civil war in Syria.
During the meeting, parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
