Hovik Abrahamyan noted that skilled and educated specialists have always been in great demand, and the Government of the Republic of Armenia supports youth by providing conditions necessary for getting higher education. As the Premier pointed out, the lack of financial means and the social status should not prevent young people from getting educated.

“Access to higher education is a steady focus for the Government, and we will consistently strive to provide increased financial assistance from year to year. We are giving priority to the development and modernization of education methodologies, and the progress made in this field is obvious. Our youth is receiving high-quality education not only at local universities: mediating State permits, hundreds of youths continue their education at the best universities of the world. I am proud of the victories recorded by our talented young people at international competitions and Olympiads. You are required to exercise maximum diligence in study. We will stand by you and ready to support you,” the head of government concluded.

Coordinator of the Armenian Youth Foundation Board of Trustees Karen Avagyan thanked Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and the Government for facilitating the implementation of the program and making it permanent. The scholarship contest was announced for first-year students included in public higher educational institutions’ full-time undergraduate courses. The program is supported by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. The Government has allocated 64 million drams to the Armenian Youth Foundation for the running year.

This year, applications for participation in the competition have been submitted by nearly 1040 students from all public institutions, including 179 students from regional universities. The selection was carried out according to clear-cut criteria: academic performance, social insecurity, etc. The winners’ names are posted on heh.am, the official website of the Armenian Youth Foundation.
