Farewell Meeting Held with Council of Europe Yerevan Office Head

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Council of Europe Yerevan Office Head Oleksandr Pavlyuk, who is completing his mission in our country.

Thanking Mr Pavlyuk for the work performed during his tenure of office, the Premier appreciated his personal contribution to the deepening of EU-Armenia cooperation and wished him every success in future activities.

In turn, Oleksandr Pavlyuk thanked the head of government for effective cooperation, noting that he will remain a friend of Armenia and will keep in touch with Armenia and the Armenian people.

Pleased with the pace of EU-Armenia cooperation, the interlocutors highlighted the positive impact of the 2012-2014 Program of Action. It was emphasized on either side that all the activities envisaged under the Program of Action had been implemented successfully, and that as a member of the Council of Europe, Armenia has managed significant progress in the field of democracy and human rights.

Hailing the results of Armenia’s chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, both sides pointed out that it had promoted bilateral cooperation and activated the dialogue with Council of Europe-member States.

Referring to the prospects and priorities of cooperation, the parties exchanged views on the 2015-2017 EU-Armenia Program of Action, which is currently under discussion and will help propel the ongoing reforms.
