Hovik Abrahamyan Visits Diaspora Ministry

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited today the Ministry of Diaspora to attend a gala event dedicated to the Ministry’s 6-year-long activities.

Accompanied by Minister of Diaspora Hranoush Hakobyan, the Premier toured the Ministry’s headquarters inspecting the work of staff units and talking to the staff. Congratulating them on the Ministry’s 6th anniversary, the head of government highlighted their focus on the preservation of the Armenian identity.

The Prime Minister said he would continue to help the Ministry to bring to life every reasonable initiative. In this context, Hovik Abrahamyan reassured of his government’s readiness to assist the staff with their mother tongue advocacy-targeted efforts. The Premier welcomed the training of teachers describing it as a patriotic undertaking.

“Dear Minister of Diaspora, no effort and resources should be spared as it comes to the conservation of Diaspora-based Armenian schools. Together with the Minister of Education and Science, you should endeavor to record positive results and overcome the existing problems,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.

Hailing the work done by the Ministry over the past few years, the Prime Minister stressed the need to further strengthen the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity. “This trinity directly stems from the best interest of our nation,” the head of government noted.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister presented Hranoush Hakobyan with a nominal watch and handed civil servant certificates to the newly recruited staff.
