Government reviews prospects for increased exports

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received the representatives of a number of domestic exporters to review the prospects for increased exports.

The Premier underscored that the rise in the level of exports to Russia may largely boost boost the economy, and that the Government stands ready to support the implementation of various projects to that effect.

As suggested by the Prime Minister, the decision-makers concerned first dwelt on the emerging opportunities, those measures and the financing tools proposed by the government, then proceeded to the exchange of ideas.

Giving the floor to the entrepreneurs in attendance, Hovik Abrahamyan said to be looking forward to hearing outspoken opinions and proposals in a bid to discuss them together. The businessmen raised questions related to export infrastructure, procedure simplification, lending conditions, modern technologies and equipment, new logistics schemes and a number of other issues.

Summarizing the observations made during the discussion, the Prime Minister suggested establishing a joint task force to look into the resources and output capacity of export enterprises, as well as the outlook for increased exports.

The head of government suggested formulating the existing bottlenecks and impediments per each product type so that the competent authorities might discuss them and come up with relevant solutions.
