Prime Minister Welcomes John Heffern, Karen Hilliard



Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern and Director of Armenia office of U.S. Agency for International Development Karen Hilliard.

Pleased with the high level of the U.S-Armenia relationship, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of achieving continued development of multifaceted bilateral ties. Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the USAID for development programs implemented in various fields.

The Head of Government also praised the American side’s extended expert assistance to the Government of the Republic of Armenia, which went a long way toward implementing radical reforms in the field of civil aviation. The Premier added that today already we have visible changes in this area.

In turn, Ambassador Heffern stressed the need to implement new programs aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries. In this context, Karen Hilliard dwelt on the programs underway in the areas of justice, territorial management, healthcare, labor and social affairs, tourism and other areas, as well as the future projects.

The parties also discussed a number of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations.
