PM appreciates UN-Armenia cooperation and implementation of joint projects

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for the Republic of Armenia Bradley Busetto.

Appreciative of the UN’s effort in our country, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation. Thanking the Premier for reception, Bradley Busetto welcomed the fact that the protection of human rights, fighting corruption, small and medium-size enterprise development had been included in the government’s priorities.

The Prime Minister and the UN Resident Coordinator emphasized the importance of modernizing border management and border checkpoints, as well as the continuity in jointly-implemented reforms in the field of territorial administration (including the process of community enlargement) and talked about the steps to take in this direction.

Hovik Abrahamyan briefed the guest on the SME development-related activities, noting that discussions are underway in a bid to address the existing bottlenecks and introduce new mechanisms.

The parties referred to refugee assistance provided by the United Nations and other issues of mutual interest.
