PM Visits Kosh Community










Accompanied by Labor and Social Affairs Minister Artem Asatryan, Healthcare Minister Armen Muradyan and Aragatsotn Marz Governor Sargis Sahakyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan traveled to Kosh community.

The Prime Minister first called at “Armenag and Anna Tadevosyans” medical center, which provides regular checkup and rehabilitation services to children with disabilities. Hovik Abrahamyan toured the center, getting familiar with premises and equipment.

The Center is provided with all the necessary equipment, contributing to children’s physical activity as prescribed by physiotherapy and personal care for children of different age groups and didactic materials. The Center also has state-of-the-art diagnostic and physiotherapy equipment and a modern ambulance.

The Head of Government noted the importance of such institutions in the country and welcomed the idea of establishing the center. Hovik Abrahamyan urged the center’s management to submit a program of cooperation with the government for implementation in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of creating all the necessary conditions for the disabled.

The institution, for the construction of which USD4mn was invested, can simultaneously serve 50 children. In the frame of day care activities, children get rehabilitation services, including (physiotherapy, aqua therapy), speech therapy, psychologist, 2 meals a day. Children can relax in their bedrooms.

The Prime Minister next called at the renovated kindergarten in Kosh community, which hosts some 92 children. The kindergarten was overhauled, equipped and landscaped with funds provided by Germany-based philanthropist Razmik Tadevosyan. AMD160mn was invested to implement these works.

Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the benefactors and the overhaul initiators for creating high-quality conditions for disabled children. “This is a great charity and effort for the benefit of the nation,” the Prime Minister said adding that all the communities should have kindergartens like this and the government will do everything to assist them in this endeavor. The Prime Minister talked to the inhabitants of Kosh with a view to getting acquainted with their problems. He took the opportunity to answer various questions. “While active, you understand the problems existing in the country, which is very good. Everyone should understand that the problems will take tome to address. We started this work, trying to bring the authorities closer to the people and individual communities. We will try to get acquainted with the existing problems and provide appropriate solutions,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.
