Educational Reforms In Eastern Partnership Countries Discussed

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation of education ministers from Eastern Partnership Countries.

Welcoming the guests, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that their visit will boost the cooperation in the field of education, which in turn will contribute to Armenia’s successful educational reform.

“We highly value the European know-how in the field of education. Strong with the European Union’s financial and technical assistance, we have already carried out a large amount of work in this direction with a view to introducing the best educational standards in our country,” Tigran Sargsyan pointed out.

The Premier advised that the institute of university accreditation is being introduced in Armenia, with a corresponding structure set up to that effect. Tigran Sargsyan said the government’s plan provides that at least five universities should face international accreditation over the next couple of years that will force educational institutions to introduce European standards.

Welcoming and appreciating Armenia’s educational reform, the guests spoke about the reforms underway in their respective countries and, in that context, outlined the cooperation areas.
