Prime Minister Visits Ecotomato Company’s Rose Growing Facility

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited the rose-growing greenhouse facility of Ecotomato CJSC in Gokht community of Kotayk Marz.

Under government decrees passed in 2011 and 2012 respectively, the Company was granted a 3-year VAT holiday on imported equipment for its government-approved investment program. As a result, Ecotomato CJSC built a state-of-the-art rose-growing greenhouse facility on an area of 5 hectares in Gokht village.

The Prime Minister toured the facility getting familiar with the ongoing activities and development projects. By investing an amount equivalent of about 9.1 billion Armenian drams, the Company acquired modern equipment from the well-known Dalsem company (the Netherlands), including an assimilation lighting system, quality and microclimate control automation systems etc.

In 2012, the Company exported roses to total cost of about AMD657mn (75 percent of the output). In the first six months of 2013, exports rose to nearly 415.1 million, with AMD64.4mn worth of output realized on the domestic market.

There are currently 70 people employed at the Company, with an average of 128 thousand dram monthly salary.
