Government Approves 2013-2020 Jewelry Development Strategy

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Industrial Council by the Prime Minister held a regular meeting in the Office of Government.

Before proceeding to the agenda, Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Harutyunyan came up with report on State supported export-oriented industrial policy measures which have led to 8.3 percent rise in industrial output in January-June, 2013, as compared to the same period last year.

Down to the agenda, the meeting discussed the 2013-2020 per-sector jewelry development strategy and an action plan for 2013-2015 to ensure the implementation of the strategy. Designed based on the estimate of domestic and global developments, the government’s vision will help build capacity and increase export volume.

On exchanging views over the questions discussed, the meeting approved the documents along with the comments and suggestions submitted.

In conclusion, the Council reviewed amendments to the 2012-2015 Action Plan for pharmaceutical and biotechnology, as well as wine and brandy-making sectors.
