Tigran Sargsyan Receives Miroslav Lajcak

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia - Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak.

Welcoming the Guest to the Office of Government, the acting Prime Minister said, “Your visit will give a new impetus to bilateral relationship. We are interested in it and are sure that the Armenian-Slovakian relations have great development potential, especially in the economic sector.”

Appreciating the current level of political intercourse, Miroslav Lajcak said it might provide a good basis for the development of economic exchanges. The Slovak Foreign Minister said to be pleased with the outcome of the Armenian-Slovak business forum underway in Yerevan, which in his opinion could promote trade turnover between the two countries.

In this context, the parties have also looked at the possibility of strengthening interaction in pharmaceutical and gold industries and getting Slovak companies involved in the North-South Highway project.

“We have been keeping a close eye on the developments in your country and would like to congratulate you on quite a commendable euro-integration effort. We can see a task-oriented Armenia consistently building on its cooperation with the EU without any problems. It is my pleasure that your country is deemed to be a success story in the Eastern Partnership Program due to evidenced at the yearend summit of Vilnius,” the Slovak Foreign Minister stated and expressed readiness to assist Armenia with its reform and euro-integration efforts.

Miroslav Lajcak took the opportunity to convey warm greetings and invite Tigran Sargsyan to visit Slovakia on behalf of his country’s Prime Minister.
