Tigran Sargsyan Welcomes Head Of CIS Observer Mission For Presidential Election




Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev, who leads the CIS observer mission for the upcoming presidential elections in Armenia.

The parties discussed issues related to the monitoring of the upcoming presidential election.

”Armenian authorities are doing everything to make the poll a landmark election in our country’s history. The candidates are provided with all the necessary conditions for effective implementation of their electoral campaign,” the Prime Minister said.

Sergei Lebedev expressed satisfaction with the conditions offered to the candidates in accordance with the Armenian legislation. All the runners were free to introduce their platform in an open and transparent manner. Sergei Lebedev noted that the incidents recorded so far have not had a serious impact on the electoral process.

The CIS Executive Secretary advised that over 200 observers will be monitoring the poll under the auspices of his organization all over the country.

Tigran Sargsyan and Sergei Lebedev also discussed questions relating to the May 31 meeting of CIS Heads of Government in Minsk, as well as a number of issues concerning economic, humanitarian, cultural cooperation.
