PM Issues Instruction To Temporarily Refrain From Charging Customs Duty To Syrian Armenians

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan held a consultative meeting to discuss issues relating to Syrian Armenians.

Those Syrian Armenians currently staying in Armenia were reported unable to get back to Syria at this point of time. Therefore, their personal property, including their cars, can not be subject to customs clearance considering that they are not seeking permanent residence. Besides, they will face additional bottlenecks in settling the customs duty or extending the time for keeping vehicles in Armenia.

Based on the foregoing and considering the urgency of the issue, the head of government told State Revenue Committee Head Gagik Khachatryan to temporarily refrain from charging customs duties to Syrian Armenians.

Once again, Prime Minister Sargsyan urged the authorities concerned to keep in focus and address as necessary the problems of Syrian Armenians.
