PM Visits Syrian-Armenian Children in Camp “Lusabats” in Hankavan

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited camp “Lusabats” in Hankavan to meet Armenian children from Syria. It should be noted, that on August 9, 2012, the first 120-member group of Armenian-Syrian children, who will spend their summer holidays in Armenia, was transferred to Yerevan. All the expenses, including the transfer of the children from Aleppo and Damascus to Armenia and organizing their holidays, is taken care of by the RA Government, supported by the private sector.
The Syrian-Armenian children greeted Tigran Sargsyan with a self-prepared dancing-musical number.
In his welcoming speech addressed to the children, the Prime Minister said: “Dear children, first of all I would like to welcome you on behalf of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan and convey his warm greetings to you and your families, because all the measures that we have been implementing for Syrian-Armenian children, are carried out under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Armenia. At the same time, I want to say that these beautiful days that we spend together in Armenia contain a most important conceit; Armenian people gathered around Syrian-Armenians, and everyone is trying to show their support, including the private sector and even ordinary citizens of Republic of Armenia. All these people are concerned with all the problems that the Syrian-Armenians are facing today. I want to assure you, that the Government will do its best to alleviate your burden. You are aware that tomorrow we expect the arrival of a new squad from Aleppo. I am sure that the atmosphere of the camp will allow us all to overcome the challenges facing the small segment of Armenians more easily. Once again I welcome you and wish you enjoy your stay in Armenia.”
The Prime Minister toured the camp, got acquainted with the rooms and living and leisure conditions intended for the kids. Afterwards he had lunch with the children, talked to them about their everyday life.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was accompanied by the Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration Vache Terteryan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Manasaryan, Governor of Kotayk region Kovalenko Shahgeldyan.
