Tigran Sargsyan Receives Foreign Minister Of Cyprus

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis.

”I am pleased that our bilateral relations are at a high political level. We must deepen and strengthen them further. There is a serious amount of untapped economic potential, therefore we should develop such programs as would promote economic development,” he said.

In this context, Tigran Sargsyan noted the government of Armenia is ready to host a business forum involving Armenian and Cypriot businessmen.

The Foreign Minister of Cyprus expressed hope that his visit would contribute to the development of multifaceted relationship between the two countries. Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis assured of his country’s readiness to assist Armenia with reforms and the introduction of European standards.

Concerning Armenia’s drive for European integration, Tigran Sargsyan advised that the ever strengthened cooperation between the European Union and Armenia has led to the launch of talks on a deep and comprehensive free trade arrangement.

Talking about Armenia’s economic policy, the parties touched upon the Government’s new industrial policy, the construction of a new nuclear unit and other projects.
