National Reforestation Fund Submits Annual Report




Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the National Reforestation Fund (NRF) Board of Trustees (BOT) met at the Office of Government.

NRF Executive Director Vladimir Movsisyan presented a report on the Fund’s financial and economic activities and financial statements for the year 2011. He stated last year’s reforestation efforts as implemented with the assistance of the Ministry of Agriculture.

In particular, he spoke about the first stage of the irrigation system installation program and tree-planting on an area of 51 hectares belonging to Yerevan Erebouni Forestry (completed in 2011, tree-planting work in the territory of 20 hectares, held the irrigation line, constructed irrigation system, fenced area).

Reforestation and fencing activities were said fully completed on an area of 25 hectares in Artik town of Shirak Marz under an integrated project of reforestation.

The BOT next discussed and approved the Fund’s financial statement for 2011.

As to the goals set for 2012, Vladimir Movsisyan dwelt on the second-stage activities, including the scheduled tree-planting efforts on the balance of 31 hectares of Erebouni Forestry that will bring the program to completion by yearend.

The meeting has also approved the list of staff and the cost-estimate of the Fund for 2012.

After the BOT members had exchanged views on different items of the agenda, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed to formulate the proposals in writing and submit them at the next meeting.
