Rural Capacity Building and Market Opportunities for Farmers Program Council Holds Meeting




Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Rural Capacity Building and Market Opportunities for Farmers Program Council met today at the Office of Government.

The Council discussed and approved this year’s operating budget for the Rural Capacity Building program. The funds will be used to set up state-of-the-art orchards and develop infrastructures in the rural communities of Tavush, Vayots-Dzor and Aragatsotni marzes.

The Council next approved the list of communities to be covered by the Rural Capacity Building program in 2012-2013. The meeting went on to discuss and endorse the 2010 audit report by KPMG-Armenia CJSC under the Market Opportunities for Farmers program and the proposal for signing a direct contract with the Company on implementation of audits under the Rural Capacity Building program in the period from 2011 to 2015.

Also, approved were the revised sample forms of competitive developer bids and cost estimate, oversight, technical and other documents associated with the Rural Capacity Building program in 2012.

The meeting decided that the drafts developed under the Market Opportunities for Farmers program shall be used for the Rural Capacity Building program.
