The Cabinet Special Sitting will Discuss the Tax Package
Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. Guided by the 70th article of the RA Constitution, the Government decided to propose to the President of the National Assembly to hold a special Cabinet sitting on November 28, 2011 and discuss the tax and other related law drafts amendments, implementing the 2012 state budget.
The Government made changes and additions in two of the previously approved decisions that regulate the organization of the usage of passenger taxi cars and passenger transport of general use. The documents’ aim is to prevent the illegal activities in the field, create an equal legal framework for economy entities, as well as to register the quantitative changes of the transport vehicles involved in the field.
It is expected that this will increase the quality of the taxi services; the industry will be regulated, transparent and will have controllable activities.
The Executive made changes in one of the earlier approved decisions, which stems from the necessity to improve the business environment and has an aim to review the mandatory requirement for the businessmen to have a seal. The decision will also contribute to strengthening the practice of receiving a number of documents, such as licenses, by electronic means.
The Government has approved the reconstruction concept of basic transit highways, which has an aim to renovate the transit highways connecting the center of Armenia to Georgia. The Executive approved the results of the international roads improvement contest for the reconstruction of Ddmashen-Zovaber-Hrazdan road sector, financed by the World Bank, and provided the winner “Blesk” LLC with 581 million AMD. The works are expected to be completed by September 2012.
The Government allowed extending the ‘Temporary Importation’ customs regime deadline applicable to the ship ‘Hidrolog’, imported by the Center for Hydro and Hydro-ecology and Zoology Institute until December 15, 2014. The ship belongs to the Russian Federation and is imported to Armenia according to the two countries’ science academies cooperation agreement.
By the Government’s decision one of the rooms of N7 dormitory building was privatized in the name of Anush Tevosyan, who deported from Azerbaijan in 1988-1992 and obtained citizenship of Armenia. By another decision, the Executive provided 5 million 456 thousand 300 AMD for solving Derenik Stepanyan’s family’s housing problems, whose resettlement from the landslide area in Vazashen, region of Tavush, is of prior importance. State financial support is provided in order to obtain a residential house (apartment) from the market.
The Cabinet discussed over 50 issues during the sitting.
