Money to Be Provided for Disaster Prevention





Government sitting, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, was held today. Before the sitting, the Prime Minister gave a speech about the World Youth Day, celebrated on November 10: ‘I would like to congratulate our young people on behalf of the RA Government, wish them success, happiness and energy, so that, in confronting the challenges of the modern world, they ensure a prosperous future for our nation.’

Coastal Protection Structures Will Be Restored


The Government has made additions to one of its earlier adopted decisions and has provided the Ministry of Agriculture with more than 256 million drams for the restoration of the coastal protection structures of Araks River in the territory of Janfida community, Armavir region and the damaged and risky areas in Syunik region, for the installation of borders of Martuni river in Martuni, Gegharkunik Region, for the riverbed correction of Aghstev River in the area of Achajur community, Tavush region. These works will be carried out before the 2012 spring freshets.
The Government has decided to solve Artak Ghabuzyan’s, a resident of Stepanavan, Lori region, a contract serviceman and a father of a family of five, housing problem by providing him with a three bedroom apartment. Artak Ghabuzyan has shown courage and initiative during his north-eastern patrol in 2010 destroying the enemy’s diversion that tried to intrude our posts.
The Cabinet has decided to privatize the residential area, which is located in the ‘Hostels’ CJSC management building, occupied by Seda Babayanc, who deported from the Republic of Azerbaijan and acquired citizenship of the Republic of Armenia in 1988-1992.
The Cabinet made an addition in one of its earlier decisions, due to the need of providing necessary information for the implementation of the authorities vested in the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition. From now on the commission will have the opportunity to study the economic markets, the anti-competitive agreements in these markets, to receive the necessary information about these markets and their participants from tax service authorities.
The Government made changes and additions in one of its earlier decisions, which are consistent with the European Higher Education Area educational reforms. In particular, from now on personnel in public relations (PR), ‘Actuary Mathematics’, ‘Security Engineering’, ‘Police Work’ and in a number of other specialties will be trained in our country.
For the organization and conduct of Egyptian culture days on November 4-11, 2011 in Armenia, the Cabinet has provided the Ministry of Culture with more than 17 million drams.
The RA Government approved the concept of enlargement and the formulation of inter-community associations, according to which, taking into account the international experience, as well as the current development level of local self-government bodies, the combined version of voluntary and mandatory forms is supposed to be used. Only in the case of enlargement is it possible to get serious and substantial results in centralization of recourses and their effective management. The concept plans to start the reforms with Vayots Dzor and continue with Syunik Region. Based on the results of the analysis and evaluation of the reform, it will be possible to draw certain conclusions, which will create the preconditions for implementing the policy on a larger scale.
Overall, the Cabinet has discussed and made decisions about more than 40 issues.
