The RPA has sufficient intellectual and human potential to ensure prosperous and dignified life for citizens: Statement by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan at RPA economic forum
Dear colleagues and conference participants.
Developing and conducting the first economic conference, Republican Party of Armenia, seeks to brief party members, colleagues and society on the country’s economic situation, which is first of all the Party’s responsibility by virtue of the votes received from the citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Armenia's economic policy is implemented by the coalition government led by three fundamental documents: the 2008 electoral program of Republican candidate Serzh Sargsyan, the memorandum signed by the political coalition in 2008 and the Government’s 2008-2012 program.
Playing a key role in the coalition government, the Republican Party of Armenia is guided by the principles of human rights and fundamental freedoms of the Charter and the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. Abiding by the principles of transparency and accountability, our party members, government ministers responsible for industry and our supporters will present the activities of the coalition government of 2008-2011.
This forum stands out for a many reasons. For the first time since independence, a political party comes up with a similar initiative. This is a new platform for debates which can shape a new culture of political activity. Secondly, the conference comes at a time when Armenia’s economy is overcoming the aftermath of the global financial and economic crisis.
At the same time, we should be ready for the expected new wave of overcoming the global crisis that is why the Republican Party to the public the results of which have been recorded in the past 4 years and who score high in international professional organizations.
Government of Armenia has been able to mitigate the negative consequences of the World financial crisis: the 2008 crisis was of unprecedented nature, and its influence is still felt both worldwide and in Armenia. Despite the challenges of the crisis, Armenia’s government managed to continue economic reform and diversification efforts.
I think that to overcome the negative impact of the crisis, the government has been able to realize our fundamental documents of the main provisions of the Republican Party of Armenia proved that it has sufficient intellectual and human potential, the political will to implement its goals, as well as correct the shortcomings and deficiencies that still exist: the Republican Party, which not only the past 4 years, but since 1999 the basic unit of economic policy, and to unite with all forces that can lead experience.
I am confident that as led by President Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian government is implementing a clearly defined and consistent economic policy aimed at providing prosperous and dignified life for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia which is due to ensure a solid international standing for our country. We are prepared to continue economic reforms based on such new goals and objectives as may be prompted by the quickly changing world.
The Republican Party of Armenia has a clear vision and long years of experience tested by the challenges that will arise as a result of both internal and external developments.
Dear colleagues, the President said in his address to her, that you need to make the document public in a discussion I think that this conference is a unique opportunity for us to present the results of the activities in the regions, communities, initiated the discussions, which will be able to collect issues of public concern, on the other hand the proposals, which are available to the public in order to formulate our economic program.
