ACES Workshop Kicks Off In Tsakhkadzor

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended an international conference entitled “Contemporary issues and prospects of judicial orders compulsory enforcement service in public and private systems of Armenia” which opened today in Tsakhkadzor. In attendance was also Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan.

Greeting the guests, Tigran Sargsyan said the Service has covered a long path of development: “We sought effective schemes for enforcement of judicial acts and ensuring the public’s trust in the system. The home legislation was upgraded step by step, and we are open to share know-how with everybody. We are also interested in having the international expertise as to the introduction of the institute of judicial enforcement.”

Tigran Sargsyan advised that an electronic mechanism is operational in Armenia’s judicial enforcement system for holding auctions. “The system will enhance transparency in ACES activities to build up public confidence in them. It should be noted that the number of online transactions is still low due to the fact that Armenia’s telecommunications and IT sector has been evolving rapidly for the past 5 years with sharply increased number of Internet users. While we only had 45 thousand users in 2008, currently we boast some 341 thousand users nationwide. This helps us apply modern approaches in the system of judicial enforcement to enhance the transparency of its operations.”

The head of government expressed hope that the conference will suggest new ways of upgrading efficiency in ACES activities.

The forum is attended by delegations coming from 16 countries – Belgium, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Israel, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Ukraine and the NKR.
