Government Commission Set Up On Demise of Renowned Artist

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan sent a message of condolences on the passing of Republic of Armenia People’s Artist Vanush Khanamiryan.

“I was deeply grieved to learn of the passing of Vanush Khanamiryan, the eminent artist who was entirely devoted to choreography.

Vanush Khanamiryan was one of those rare personalities whose greatness was unconditionally recognized by the people. And this was not accidental because with his bright talent, faithfulness to art and infinite energy Khanamiryan unveiled the Armenian choreographic art before the world.

He had numerous honorary titles and merits, nonetheless the Maestro will perpetuate in the memory of people not only as an art worker, but also as a cultural manager and exemplary citizen. Nationwide love seems to be the most important reward for his artistic activity.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I condole with the family, close relatives and supporters of his art.”
