Prime Minister Wraps Up Working Visit To NKR





Accompanied by Armenian and NKR Defense Ministers and the members of his delegation, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited today the frontier posts of Artsakh Defense Army. The head of government talked to servicemen getting acquainted with service conditions.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan handed out commemorative watches to those servicemen distinguished with high responsibility, courage and dedication.

Tigran Sargsyan next attended a training drill at one of army units of Artsakh’s defense army.

Addressing the servicemen, the Prime Minister stated in part: “Dear servicemen, you should be proud of the opportunity of seeing service in the NKR Defense Army as you are the representatives of a triumphing army. You must follow the best traditions of your fathers who won the war for Artsakh liberation. You have to build on our achievements by contributing to NKR army’s fighting capacity.

The government of the Republic of Armenia will spare no effort to that end so that you can live up to highest international standards. I would like to greet you on behalf of the government of the Republic of Armenia and reaffirm that what you are doing is a deed of heroism.”

Addressing journalists, Prime Minister Sargsyan said to have been impressed by the fighting and moral capacity of the troops. “We can see that the soldier is proud, brave, self-organized and professional. This inspires hope that their fighting capacity will keep on up from day to day. This is what matters most to us,” the head of government stressed.

As for the escalating warlike rhetoric of the opponent, the Prime Minister pointed out that the best response is the strengthening of our troops’ fighting capacity. “What is going on in the Armenian armed forces evidences that we are on the right path. We should continue bettering our fighting skills which is the case today,” Tigran Sargsyan noted.

The Prime Minister’s visit came ended up with a meeting held with local farmers and public officials responsible for agriculture.

In this context, Tigran Sargsyan appreciated the choice of a well-suited model for farm development and stock-breeding in the NKR, as well as efficiency in the use local infrastructures and resources. “We prioritize the dialog between the State and the farmers which is due to lead to the design of a development strategy. Our task number one is to increase farming efficiency so that people could make investments into this sphere,” the Premier pointed out.

Wrapping up the visit to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, the delegation headed by Tigran Sargsyan returned to Yerevan.
