Integrated Social Service Institute Introduced

A cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

Before the sitting, on behalf of his government, the Prime Minister congratulated the Armenian national chess team members on winning the world chess champion title.

Amending two previous decrees, the government raised the level of monetary assistance available to the families of those 5 thousand 300 servicemen killed in action from AMD 10 thousand to AMD 30 thousand as complemented with AMD 20 thousand allocated for each child (some 1300 children).

At the same time, the government decided to augment by AMD 5000 as of this September the sum of monetary relief available to those 4000 disabled servicemen having been involved in the Great Patriotic War and other foreign State-hosted military operations.

The government next approved the terms for assigning buildings and sites, including the one-stop-shop reception desks, for the provision of integrated social services.

The new decision implies that welfare services will be dislocated in State-owned or community-run buildings and facilities to help boost the quality and efficiency of such services.

According to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, this is a key element of social reform: “By introducing the institute of integrated social services we will ease the life of our citizens since they will no longer be compelled to turn to different agencies for getting a welfare benefit,” the Prime Minister said.

With reference to the allocation of extra 7.5 billion drams for farm lending purposes, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said the crediting will be carried out according to the same mechanism as was applied during the spring campaign.

Proceeding from the requirements of the law on protection and use of immovable monuments of history and culture and historical settings,” complying with the proposal of the mayor of Gyumri and AG and АА Baghdasaryan OJSC concerning the restoration of Minas Avetisyan’s frescos, the government agreed to entrust them with the transportation of Minas Avetisyan’s “Armenian pastoral” fresco as included in the Shirak marz inventory of immovable historical and cultural monuments and located in the building of former “Stroymachine” Joint-Stock Company.

The decision also stipulates that the town hall of Gyumri and AG and АА Baghdasaryan OJSC shall be entrusted with the transportation of Minas Avetisyan’s “Carpet weaving” fresco as located in the building of the former Electro-technical Plant CJSC.

After restoration the “Armenian pastoral” fresco will be placed for viewing in the conference hall of the newly built building of Gyumri town hall, with the “Carpet weaving” fresco to be posted in the vestibule of Building N218 of Abovian street of Gyumri.

Understanding that Shirak marz still hosts four other frescoes by Minas Avetisyan and twenty other Armenian painters, the head of government hailed Gyumri residents’ great thoughtfulness of the issue: “Public organizations will have to asked to come up with new proposals on rescuing these frescos. The frescos need to be rescued at any cost and if the social drive can help us find such entities ready to invest into the restoration works, we will pass decisions concerning the other four frescos so that they remained in Gyumri or Shirak marz.”

The government next decided that those foreign citizens due to arrive in Armenia for participation in the pan-Armenian games to be held this August 13-21 will be exempted from the payment of entry visa duties.

The government next decided to appoint Arthur Nalbandyan to the post of Lori Marz Governor which had been vacant since July, 28, 2011. Hailing Arthur Nalbandyan for his past activities, Tigran Sargsyan congratulated the newly appointed governor and wished him productive work.
