Farmers to get barley seeds
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan called at Masis railroad station of Ararat marz to attend the unloading of the first lot of a total of 189 tons of high-grade barley seeds to be imported from Ukraine. Over 2000 tons of barley seeds are due to be imported into the country with a view to developing seed-breeding activities, as well as tackling a number of key problems.
The head of government was reported on the imported seeds’ quality. The seeds of first reproduction will be made available to the representatives of most needy communities. 5-6 times as much yield is expected on 1 kg input seeds.
The imported quantities will be distributed in Lori, Aragatsotni, Tavush, Ararat and Armavir marzes followed by rural settlements from high-mountain regions.
