MCA-Armenia Governing Council meeting





The governing council of Millenium Challenge Account-Armenia SNCO met at the Office of Government, chaired by council head, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

To begin with, MCA-Armenia SNCO Executive Director Ara Hovsepyan introduced the finalized plan of closure of the program as revised by both Armenian and US executives and experts. The meeting approved the final version of the closure plan and charged the Ministry of Justice to submit a corresponding legal opinion.

The governing council discussed and endorsed the revised plan of procurements, as well as the amended draft contracts to be signed under the Second Package Lot 2 Tertiary Canal Rehabilitation project of the Irrigation Infrastructure component and the 17 Pumping Stations Rehabilitation project.

The meeting next approved the amended draft contracts to be signed under the Hardware Procurement and Irrigation Management Capacity Building projects of the Water-to-Market activity of the Irrigated Agriculture component.

Among other agenda items, the meeting endorsed the amended draft contract on rehabilitation of the Ararat Valley drainage system rehabilitation project. In conclusion, the council backed the steps to undertake as part of public awareness raising efforts.
