Members of CIS Council of Heads of State News Agencies welcomed by the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation of CIS Council of Heads of State News Agencies in attendance of the 12th session of the Council.

Highlighting the activities carried out by the CIS State news agencies, the Prime Minister said they had a serious political dimension.

Meetings like this help trace back developments in the CIS countries and identify the challenges ahead. The ongoing cooperation allows the member States to fill the gaps available in this domain.

The Prime Minister was asked a number of questions bearing on integration and investments, tourism, cultural dialog and so on.

By the end of the meeting, ITAR-TASS First Deputy Director General Mikhail Kalmykov handed a symbolic present to the head of the Armenian government.

The CIS Information Board was founded in 1996 with a view to building outreach capacity, upgrading cooperation and providing information support for the programs implemented within the CIS frameworks. The participants of the meeting represented State media from Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, the CIS Executive Committee and the Armenian public news outlets.
