Program of actions for radical improvement “Doing Business” discussed in Government

A meeting on radical improvement of Armenia’s business environment was held today in the Office of Government. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

At the previous meeting held to that effect, the head of government told the representatives of all the ministries and agencies concerned to take up the matter in corresponding working groups and, within a week’s time, to submit proposals on implementation of actions for improvement of the business environment in Armenia.

Emphasizing the need for having the business environment improved in our country, the Prime Minister stated as follows, “During the preceding meetings, we gave specific orders as to what actions should be carried out so that the business environment might improve, as a whole, and we could feel the difference by next April.”

First Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan introduced the amended program of actions on improvement of Armenia’s business environment, after which the meeting looked at ways of simplifying the tax and customs rules (implying reduced frequency of returns and tax payments, simpler and clearer customs registrations) and those procedures required for launching new businesses, as well as creating incentives for export and small and medium-size enterprise.

Summing up the meeting, Tigran Sargsyan gave corresponding assignments to the heads of ministries and agencies concerned.
