Citizens should know the names of shareholders

A cabinet sitting was held today under Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s chairmanship.

Prior to the meeting, the head of government complimented Defense Ministry’s football team – the winners of Prime Minister’s Cup – 2010. Praise was likewise addressed to the teams of the Office of Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Healthcare who won the second and third places respectively. Prioritizing mass sport expansion in the country, Tigran Sargsyan said that the government had much to do in this respect.

In an effort to streamline the use of registered corporate data and ban the dissemination of private information by specialized entities, the government approved a package of amendments to the laws on joint-stock companies and securities market. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said these changes are important in that the names of shareholders will henceforth be open to the public: “It is the duty of the State to ensure that all relevant information be open for enterprises,” the Prime Minister stated.

The Economic Development Fund of Gyumri was acknowledged to be the main operator for implementation of the Gyumri techno-park project and the techno-park support program of the government.

In compliance with the presidential decree of October 7, 2010 on the fall call-up and demobilization campaign, the government decided to set up a central call-up commission, marz (including the city of Yerevan) call-up boards and approved the composition of the central medical panel. Corresponding duties were assigned to the ministers of defense, healthcare, foreign affairs, transport and communications, the Prosecutor General, the marz governors, the Mayor of Yerevan and the Police Head.

The Cabinet next decided to redistribute the funds allocated from the treasury for refurbishment of historical monuments. The decision envisages activities at the main church of the obairavank complex, Lechashen fortress, Tsakhac Kari Vank complex, the temple of Odzun, Parajanov’s museum and other facilities.

The meeting amended the standards applicable to high-demand car registration numbers: from now on P, N, T, D and V letters will be used in addition to U, O, S and L letters already in use.

The government approved the land estate availability and distribution report for the year 2010 as of July 1, 2010, as well as the rules and regulations applicable to the following: stay in and evacuation from hazardous zones, rail-borne traffic and crossings, certification of general school teachers, formation of certification boards, payment of extra sums to the teachers so certified, the list of general school staffs and job descriptions, certification characteristics.
