The Prime Minister attends opening of houses of culture in Tavush marz

Following a visiting cabinet-session held in Tavush marz of Armenia, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the opening of Idjevan town’s fully refurbished music school. Built as early as in 1978, the school had not been repaired ever since.

One more floor has been added to the two-storied building under the World Bank-supported refurbishment project which started in November, 2009. The Social Investment Fund of Armenia helped the school to get the needed supplies and equipment.

While the school is meant for 320 pupils, it currently hosts some 325 pupils, 25 of which come from children’s homes. The school serves children coming not only from Idjevan, but also from the neighboring areas. The Prime Minister has brought in a personal contribution to rehabilitation work by offering a German grand piano.

The head of government next called at Idjevan’s traveling center where a book fair was being held at the moment. Tigran Sargsyan walked round the stands getting acquainted with the exhibits.

Before returning to Yerevan, Tigran Sargsyan attended the opening of a geological museum - gallery in the city of Dilijan.

AMD 208mn was earmarked from the municipal budget for construction work which kicked off in 2008. The new-built facility is now open to welcome art fans. The Prime Minister took toured the building and familiarized himself with the rich collection of artifacts.
